If you’re reading this blog and are a fan of my work/home, then you know one thing to be true: I love vintage. Need more proof?
About 85% of everything in my home was either thrifted, bought at a consignment store or found lying on the sidewalk (I used to live in a very interesting neighborhood where they just threw a $400 chair out just because it was “old”). I attend the Rosebowl, Long Beach, PCC and other flea markets practically every weekend and ALWAYS find something (I don’t always buy). I’m of the belief that one can find great vintage and flea markets anywhere, but flea market finds do not always fit your exact needs. How many times have you gone out looking for a decorative tray and came back with giant wooden dragon? I’m raising my hand over here and pointing directly at myself.
In comes Etsy and Chairish. I love Chairish because I can create a targeted search for the exact item I’m looking for and then subscribe to email updates when new products matching that description get uploaded. The biggest problem with Chairish, however, are the prices. Whenever I get a perfect match on Chairish for the exact item I need, I google image search the image and see if there are any others like it that are cheaper.
On the other hand, Etsy is far more hit and miss and selection can be a bit iffy. So in that regard, it actually helps to favorite shops that have great curated items vs. doing a wide search and hoping for the best.

My fifth favorite place to shop is Instagram. I’m a little behind the times when it comes to buying vintage on IG. However I realize a large of part of my subscribers are very IG-centric, so I would be remiss to not mention at least SOME if my favorite shops there!
